Homepage Where can I go to ? What's New?

Hello !

Welcome to my homepage.
This web was set up on the 13th of october 1997 and is still under construction. If you want to know which pages were added lately, choose "What's New?" to view the complete update listing.
If you have no idea what you will find in this web and what I can offer you, I guess, you better read this information page first.

Now please feel free to delve into the realms of sustainable transport by clicking on the links below:

Barbara's publications
Published & unpublished articles summarizing what I have been working on and indicating "where I'm coming from"
gate No. 3/1998 July-September ‘Mobility for the majority‘
Mobility for the majority, the Focus of this gate edition, is about people's very basic needs. This gate Focus presents various facets of mobility for the masses. Our contributions stress a needs-oriented approach which mainly involves non-motorised and intermediate transport initiatives but also look at projects involving motorisation strategies.
Bicycle reference manual for Developing Countries
Completed for the Web!: 476 page manual edited by myself (& brought out by GATE) with information on transportation planning aspects of cycling around the world.
IFRTD National Forum Group
This newly formed group with an emphasis on rural transport issues is interested in gaining strength so we welcome all potential new members (we also discuss urban transport issues together with the "Task Force Sustainable Mobility" based at the Evangelische Akademie Bad Boll)
German cycling association (ADFC) infos - Ortsgruppe Horb
In accordance with "Global denken - lokal handeln", I am getting more involved in supporting sustainable transport efforts in Germany
Recommended Reading - A bibliography (German / English)
There are more and more useful publications in the field of sustainable transport. A lot more could be done so let me encourage students of transportation planning at this point to take up sustainable transport issues in their field work/theses so I can recommend them in the future!
Fun to read (English / German)
There are more and more additional publications in the field of transport. Enjoy reading them!
Sustainable Transport: Links and Adresses
We need to be networked in our field because we are (still) a small group of dedicated people so here is your chance to reach "the others", be a part of the movement and hopefully get involved because we are all needed!
(Homepage without description of the above)

If you have requests for additional information you would like to have or you can give me suggestions regarding either "Recommended Reading" or "Links to other Sustainable Transport sites", write to me. If you have ideas on how to improve this site, please write to the webmaster.

Enjoy the pages.
